About
The Series Kanata, Bitter Shield, Thunder Gate, Wildfires and Victoria tell the story of Canada's settlement from sea to sea through the lives of two Scot's families who leave Scotland after the Battle of Culloden. Each volume is a story in itself and each involves cross border action as families are divided by French and English and later by the American Revolution. The exciting history of Canada is revealed in the westward struggle. It becomes clear that Canada is as much a product of the American Revolution as the United States. KANATA Mathew MacLeod loved her from the moment they danced at her wedding. But Janet MacLean was another man's bride, and Mathew was off to fight the English in the tragic cause of Bonnie Price Charles. When he came home, he found only ruins and death. Janet was gone. Leaving Scotland behind them, Janet and Mathew follow separate lives- from intrigues and pleasures of London and Paris to the hardship, peril and hope of the vast lands across the sea. Both would know loves and bitter heart break. When Mathew at last found Janet they would pledge their hearts and future to the glorious dream that was called KANATA. |
